More Real Estate Pros Among Vegas Victims

More victims are coming to light from Sunday’s deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Robert McIntosh, a real estate professional with Century 21 Gold Rush in North Pole, Alaska, was reportedly shot three times in the chest and one time in the arm by the gunman who fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino into an open crowd below of concert goers in Las Vegas Sunday night. McIntosh was rushed to surgery and is recovering, according to news reports. “Please join us in giving your thoughts and prayers for the McIntosh and Century 21 family,” an email sent to members of the Greater Fairbanks Board of REALTORS® says. McIntosh, 52, attended the outdoor concert with a friend. He was near the front of the stage when the shooting began. Mike Vansickle, the owner and broker of Century 21 Gold Rush who attended the concert with McIntosh, says McIntosh had just gotten off the phone with his family when the shooting began. “He’ll get through this and come out with some stories to tell,” Vansickle told the Associated Press. So far, 59 people have died from the attack and at least 527 are injured; some remain in critical condition. Eyewitnesses and video footage captured from the night showed about 10 to 15 minutes of constant gunfire into the crowd. About 22,000 concertgoers attended the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on Oct. 1. The Asian Real Estate Association of America also alerted its members to Michelle Vo, 32, who was shot and killed during the gunman’s rampage. Vo, an insurance saleswoman with New York Life Insurance in Los Angeles, was a member of AREAA, which is a nonprofit trade organization that promotes sustainable homeownership opportunities to Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. “Please continue to pray for one of our AREAA members Michelle Vo who lost her life in the tragic shooting in Vegas,” Daniel Eng, AREAA’s 2016 president, posted to members on Facebook. “Prayers for her family and all the victims’ families as they have suffered a tragic loss.” Earlier this week, REALTOR® Magazine reported that Andrew Gudmunson, a real estate professional with Century 21 Action REALTORS® in Minot, N.D., was shot twice in his midsection and arm on Sunday and underwent emergency surgery. He has been listed in stable condition. Gudmunson’s friend Jameson Benson visited Gudmunson in the hospital in Las Vegas where he’s recovering. Benson told the media: “He’s got a breathing tube, and he’s still extremely sedated. When he does open his eyes, you can tell that he recognizes people. And when he sees certain people, his heart rate will go up. … Anyone who knows him, he’s definitely a fighter.” By REALTOR® Magazine
