REALTORS: Buyers Look to You for Mortgage Info

A real estate professional is an important go-to person for mortgage information, finds a new survey by TD Bank of about 1,500 homeowners.

It was the most popular way to find information, with in-person lender visits (41 percent) and talking to friends, family, and colleagues (33 percent) trailing behind. More than half of the respondents—54 percent—say they wish banks and lenders would provide more relevant, helpful information online, the survey finds. "It's important for home buyers to meet with their lenders early and often," says Ryan Bailey, retail lending director at TD Bank. "Talking to your mortgage loan officer before and during the mortgage process will instill the knowledge and confidence you need to navigate the entire mortgage process with ease.
